Stakeholder Involvement

All asset development and transfer projects have people involved in them and who have an interest in their outcome. All projects will need to engage with these people and organisations in order to build support and address concerns about the impact of a project.

Depending on how a project begins (for example as a campaign to keep a building open, to stop demolition or consider taking responsibility for it as a result of an offer from a land or building owner) involving stakeholders in the development of a project is usually key to its outcome. So understanding the types of stakeholders most commonly found in projects and ways to identify and work with them is a key feature of the work involved in any asset development and transfer project.
